The euro is the official currency in Italy. Bank notes come in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 euros. Coin values are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 cents, 1 and 2 euros. Foreign currency may be changed at banks, hotels, airports and in exchange offices. ATM machines are easily available throughout the city and at the airport.

We recommend you to follow the same rules of safety you follow while travelling anywhere else:
- Keep your travel documents in your hotel safe deposit box
- Always carry the hotel address with you when you leave the hotel
- Do not leave personal items (bags, mobile phones, etc.) unattended

Please note that this letter of invitation does not commit the congress organisers to any kind of financial support or hosting arrangements, nor does it guarantee an entry visa. ELECTRICITY
Italy uses a 230 volt 50 Hz system. Sockets are the standard European type (two-prong round pin plugs with a hole for a male grounding pin are standard). To use electric appliances from your country you may need a special voltage converter with an adapter plug.
TIPPING
Service is usually included in the bill in bars and restaurants, but if you consider the service good enough to warrant a tip, we suggest about five to ten percent.
